Summer is a great time to take your family to the park and run around on the playground. However, the Texas heat can sometimes put a damper on the fun and make equipment too hot to use. The Arlington Parks and Recreation Department is working to create a more enjoyable experience by installing shade structures over many of the playgrounds throughout the city.
Shade structures reduce the amount of direct exposure that playground equipment has in the sun and keeps the temperature down so that nothing is out of play for your kids' imaginations! These canopies also provide some protection for your little ones against the sun as they run around. Here's the latest update on shade structures currently being worked on.
