With Union Pacific's Track Renewal Project just days away, Arlington drivers are expected to face unprecedented traffic challenges, which is why MyArlingtonTX.com is providing information to help you plan your route.

As the project moves east, multiple at-grade railroad crossings are expected to be simultaneously closed for several days. The railroad crossings will remain closed 24 hours a day during all phases of the track renewal.

As of January 14, here is the latest information on several railroad crossings expected to be closed during this project:

• PVT Road (Widow Woman's Crossing) - Temporarily open; work to continue on Tuesday, January 15
• Bowen Road - Scheduled to close and re-open January 17
• Davis Street - Scheduled to close January 17
• Cooper Street - Scheduled to close January 18
• N. Center Street - Scheduled to close January 18
• Mesquite Street - Scheduled to close January 18

Avoiding gridlock is also easier now that Arlington has made a network of traffic cameras available online. The city's new webpage features strategically selected traffic webcams to help drivers stay on track during the January 17-24 Union Pacific Track Renewal Project. Anyone can view the 27 traffic webcams available only at MyArlingtonTx.com.

There's also an interactive map, which not only links to a still shot from a selected camera which is refreshed every five minutes, but can be moved to indicate which crossings will be open or closed during the project dates.
