The Arlington Police Department announces the debut of a weekly news program, "Inside APD.'

This new program features a variety of topics and news affecting the Arlington community. The first episode featured Sgt. Tarrick McGuire and Officer Shelia Griffith and a focus on local homelessness initiatives.

This week's show features Detective Taylor Taylor (Yes, that's her name) and Investigator Diane Brown and a focus on missing persons and the Texas State Silver Alert System.

Watch for a new episode every Friday at noon.

"Our goal is to connect with residents through the power of video,' said Sgt. Christopher Cook who oversees the APD Media Unit. "We do a great job with social media, and this is just another way to push information out to our residents.'

Each episode is posted on the department's YouTube channel (Inside APD), Twitter (@ArlingtonPD), and Facebook (ArlingtonPolice). For the first few months, this program will rotate hosts throughout the department so the community can get to know their officers, Sgt. Cook said.

"We have a huge amount of talent within our organization and we will capitalize on that,' he said.

Future topics will explore the SWAT Team, Crime Scene Unit, and important safety information about tax scams as we approach tax filing season.

If you have a topic you'd like to see on Inside APD, send an email to [email protected]. Tune in at noon every Friday. If you miss an episode, don't worry. Every episode will be archived on YouTube.
