Free Concerts at Levitt Pavilion

Friday: Somebody's Darling

Enjoy a night of alternative/country roots rock served with Southern hospitality for free. "Somebody's Darling" was the name given to unidentified dead soldiers in the Civil War. It is a name that resonates with this young alternative/country band's appreciation of what came before them. "Somebody's Darling" recently was named to the Dallas Observer's list of bands to watch. The show begins at 8 p.m.

Saturday: Rick Trevino

Bring out the lawn chairs, cooler and food during a free night of country music by Grammy Award-winner Rick Trevino. During the mid-1990s, Trevino emerged as one of the first popular Hispanic singers in country music. He has racked up several hits over the years with his Garth Brooks-inspired blend of new country and album rock. The show begins at 8 p.m.

Sunday: Red Young & Black Red Black

Are you ready for some red-hot jazz from a native Texan? The list of artists Red Young has performed with is like a music biz who's who: Cher, Tanya Tucker, Dolly Parton, Linda Rondstadt, Willie Nelson and Waylon Jennings, just to name a few. The Fort Worth native actually has a classical background, listening to everyone from Van Cliburn, B.B. King, Delbert McClinton, Freddy King and many others. Young now plays with a trio he formed, Black Red Black. Their sound, which has been termed "soul jazz," "barbecue jazz" and even "acid jazz," features a heavy backbeat and blues-drenched intonation. The show begins at 8 p.m.
