The Levitt Pavilion in downtown Arlington, which hosts 50 free musical shows each year, recently received some great news. Texas Power, Levitt's first and only title sponsor since its creation in 2008, committed to returning in 2013 as the title sponsor for the third straight year.

"We're thrilled they're back," Patti Diou, Levitt's executive director said. "They're a very important partner to us."

Sponsorships Critical to Venue's Success

Sponsorships and donations are what allow the nonprofit organization to achieve its mission of bringing performing arts to everyone regardless of age, ethnicity and economic status.

About 13 percent of the 2013 budget will be supplied by the national Levitt organization, but Diou and her team must raise the additional funds on their own.

"Texas Power helps us make it possible to bring these free concerts to the public," Diou said.

David Chase, vice president of Texas Power, added, "We are excited to partner with the Levitt for a third consecutive year. We believe in Arlington and we believe in what the Levitt brings to Arlington."

"Personally, my kids love the atmosphere, and it's been fun for me to hear the songs I grew up listening to on the record player," he continued. "It's memories in the making every time my family goes to Levitt."

Other Changes for 2013

Returning patrons may notice a few changes to the Levitt's summer and fall concert schedule, most notably more big names and a longer summer calendar.

Up-and-coming group Delta Rae is booked to perform after getting rained out in 2012. Last June, they appeared on Jay Leno to perform "Bottom of the River." They also performed the same song in September on Conan.

"It's shaping up to be one of our best years. Every day we get more excited about the lineup," Diou said.

The Downtown Arlington Music Festival will kick off the summer concerts on Memorial Day weekend in 2013. Then, Texans can attend performances every Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday through July 14.
