January 14- February 16, 2013

Inspired by the ongoing Love Field Modernization Project as well as the $6 million commissioned art program at DFW International Airport, curator Benito Huerta organized this exhibition to showcase the lively public art activity at the two major airports in the Metroplex. Public art- artwork created specifically for a publicly-accessible location- moves an artist's work out of the confines of the gallery or museum and allows it to be seen by a wider audience in a less traditional setting. Enlivening the surroundings and enhancing the identities of the airports, public art at DFW and Love Field is a highly visible expression of the cultural diversity and vibrancy of the north Texas art scene.

The exhibit and all events are free and open to the public.

Gallery Hours: Monday-Friday 10A.M.- 5 P.M., Saturday 12- 5P.M.

Located on first floor in room 169 at the north end of the Fine Arts Building, UTA Campus, 502 S. Cooper St., Arlington, Texas.

For more information, contact Benito Huerta 817-272-3143 or Patricia Healy 817-272-5658.

The 2011-12 exhibition schedule is made possible by the generous support of Arlington Camera, Nerwin & Martin, the Hanley Foundation, and Hilton Arlington.
