There was a buzz in the air at the Tarrant County College-Southeast Campus (TCC) library last week. Besides the students reading at desks, or those searching the shelves for books, others were there to learn more about the new partnership between TCC and the Arlington Public Library. TCC is the first college or university to become a LibraryLiNK. It' s the 11th location overall. With the new system, students are now able to reserve materials from Arlington Public Library' s general collection and have them delivered by courier to the LibraryLiNK lockers at TCC. Students receive an email notification when the items are ready for pick up.

With this new initiative on campus, finding the right book for a class project or just for enjoyment should no longer be an issue.

"We are so grateful for this partnership and for this opportunity to be able to serve the students of Tarrant County College,' said Cary Siegfried, Director of Libraries for the City of Arlington. "We think our collections complement each other very well and between our two collections we hope to be able to meet any informational and recreational needs a student may have.'

"I expect this library to be our busiest LibraryLiNK location,' Siegfried said.

A circulation manager will oversee the requests received from the TCC campus, ensuring they are fulfilled in timely fashion.

"We are really grateful to Arlington Public Library for bringing this to us, and we' re excited to have this cooperative effort,' said JoTisha Klemm, Director of Library Services for TCC-Southeast Campus. "If we don' t have what students need, they' ll be able to get it through LibraryLiNK.'

The new locker system was funded by a grant provided by the Texas State Library and Archives Commission.
