On August 15, Mansfield ISD Athletics will host the 7th Annual FanFest at Vernon Newsom Stadium. FanFest has become the annual free kick-off event for the Mansfield ISD community.
Held at Newsom Stadium, FanFest showcases high school drumlines, cheerleaders and drill teams and introduces fans to the varsity football teams.
Community members are invited to choose stadium seats, purchase football season tickets, meet the football players and coaches on the field and enjoy an evening in a pep rally-like atmosphere.

Free food and t-shirts (while supplies last) are be available as well as opportunities to purchase season tickets, spirit wear, and concessions. Thanks to the support from Fine Arts, the 2013 FanFest featured student performances include:
- Lake Ridge High School Drumline
- Legacy High School Cheerleaders
- Mansfield High School Cheerleaders
- Summit High School Drumline
- Timberview High School Drill Team
