The New Year is off to a great start for many homeless animals, thanks to the generosity of the City Attorney's Office (CAO).

This team of city employees had a special theme for their annual Christmas party last month. They poured their hearts out to the homeless animals of Arlington Animal Services by bringing numerous animal related gifts, which flowed charitably from under their Christmas tree.

As part of the festivities, the CAO organized a game of "Who's my boss?' where staff submitted photos of their pets anonymously, and the group enjoyed trying to figure out which pet belonged to whom.

Animal Services Administrative Coordinator Cheri Colbert, and Community Services Agent and Animal Foster Care Program Coordinator Tia Sellars arrived when the party was in full swing. They brought along a sweet, adoptable pet to spread a little pet therapy and Christmas cheer. Information was shared about the Animal Services Center, pet adoptions, the Foster Pet Program and more.

"The employees of the City Attorney's Office are always happy to make contributions to the charity that we select to support as a group during the holiday season, but never more so than this year. We were all truly excited about supporting such a worthwhile local charity that we even turned it into a theme for our Christmas party,' said City Attorney Jay Doegey.

The CAO Christmas Party committee members that organized this wonderful event were: Regina Vasquez-Espinosa, Melinda Barlow, Deborah Fields-Nelson, Sarah Martin, Christina Weber, Elisa Cruz and Gay Downs.

Arlington Animal Services (a division of Code Compliance Services) wishes to extend a big thank you to Jay and his team at the CAO, along with all the other groups and individuals who donated to the homeless shelter pets during the holidays.
