Arts Festival

The South St. Art Festival returns this fall for its second year. This festival has become a major part in developing a new art scene in the middle of Downtown Arlington. There will be a wide array of booths featuring a number of different artworks from jewelry to photography and everything in between. The free three-day art festival will feature up to 100 artists from across the country. While you`re looking at the different art, enjoy music from talented local bands playing the best in Classic Rock, Blues, Jazz, and Texas Country at the East Street stage located next to South Street Patio! Expect covers of legendary rock hits, as well as originals, and while you`re browsing enjoy fabulous cuisine from a variety of different local restaurants! The South St. Arts Fest will line the sides of South St. from Mesquite St. to Mary St., and runs from Friday September 26th to Sunday September 28th. Admission to the event is free.

Artists and musicians can reserve a spot at the festival by visiting southstreetartfest.com. The deadline for musicians to apply is June 30th, and an Electronic Press Kit is required for all music submissions. The deadline for artists to reserve a display booth is August 10th. Artists must furnish their own display materials, and their own white tent. Tables will be provided as part of the registration fee. There is also the opportunity for local businesses to become a sponsor for the South St. Art Festival. Also happening that weekend is the free concert series at Levitt Pavilion, Texas Rangers versus the Oakland Athletics and Texas A&M versus Arkansas Razorbacks College Football. Steve Moya, organizer of the event and owner of Moya Art Events says, " Last year we had close to 7,500 over three days. This year, we look to add to that number with all the events going on that weekend in Arlington." There will be several nightly events also happening throughout the city that weekend, providing entertainment for everyone.
