Four Arlington ISD principals have been selected to be among the 50 participants for this summer's Raise Your Hand Texas Leadership Program at Harvard University.
Mary Helen Burnett from Dunn Elementary, Selina Elizondo from Goodman Elementary, Mark Kammlah from Williams Elementary and Joshua Leonard from Blanton Elementary will attend a weeklong professional development course at Harvard after going through a highly competitive and selective application process. These principals will be taught by the world-class faculty at the Harvard Graduate School of Education on one of three topics: Improving Schools: The Art of Leadership; Leadership: An Evolving Vision; or Enhancing Teacher Effectiveness.
After participating in the Raise Your Hand Texas Leadership Program, the principals will continue to receive support from the Raise Your Hand Texas staff and a statewide network of leadership program alumni.
Raise Your Hand Texas provides travel, hotel and tuition expenses, as well as a daily stipend, for the principals participating in the leadership program.
