Dallas-based Park Place Dealerships is expanding its presence in Tarrant County. During Thursday's groundbreaking ceremony, the company introduced plans to build a two-story, 91,000 square foot Mercedes-Benz dealership in Arlington. It will be located at Interstate 20 and Beltway Place on a 16-acre site.
The dealership, Mercedes-Benz of Arlington, is a multi-million dollar project that will feature a showroom that can accommodate up to 16 new vehicles, 35 service bays and 10-make ready bays. The anticipated opening is summer 2015.
"Mercedes-Benz has one of the most exciting product lines in its history and there is a strong demand for the vehicles," said Ken Schnitzer, chairman of Park Place Dealerships, in a news release. "Arlington is a great market and with this new location, we will be able to better serve current clients in the area, as well as expand our client base."
Mercedes-Benz of Arlington will benefit the community economically by creating about 90 jobs. Another 325 construction-related jobs will need to be filled as well.
"Creating the jobs will be absolutely fantastic. As our chairman mentioned, there is going to be over 90 new jobs and I love that in a dealership there is a lot of diversity in the workforce," said Hesham Elgaghil, general manager of Mercedes-Benz of Arlington. "We have people that are technicians, people that are greeters, people that are executives, people that are in sales, and people that are in service."
This will be Park Place's fourth Mercedes-Benz dealership in the Metroplex and the 18th overall.
