By Arlington Independent School District
Posted on February 23, 2013, February 23, 2013

As part of the district's Achieve Today. Excel Tomorrow. strategic plan, the AISD is excited to announce the launch of a new service that will deliver important information to parents and employees via text messages.

What do I need to do to make sure I get text messages from the AISD?

Please go online and make sure your cell phone information is up-to-date on Parent Self Serve.

If you are not registered for Parent Self Serve you may do so by visiting aisd.net, going to the Parents page and selecting Parent Self Serve. If you do not wish to register for this service but want to make sure your cell information is up-to-date for
AISD text messaging, please contact your child's school. Updates should be made by Tuesday, Feb. 26.

When will the district launch the text messaging service?

If the district has your cell phone number on file, you will receive an opt-out message on Friday, March 1. To opt out of all text messages from the AISD, reply with STOP to the test message that will be sent out March 1. The district will only use the service to provide information that is timely and relevant.

For more information, visit aisd.net or contact your child's school.

Please note, although the district does not charge for this service, it does not pay for text message charges that may be
incurred for sending or receiving text messages. Check with your wireless carrier for possible charges.
