Arlington will play host to a clash of the titans at the inaugural College Football National Championship game.
The Oregon Ducks (13-1) and Ohio State Buckeyes (13-1) are the final two teams in the College Football Playoff and will face off against each other in the National Championship game at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, TX.
Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m. CT on Monday, January 12 and will be televised on ESPN. Oregon advances after defeating Florida State 59-20 in the Rose Bowl, while Ohio State upset Alabama in the Sugar Bowl, 45-38.
Ohio State has surprised the country, losing only one game while playing with three different quarterbacks throughout the season. The most recent starter, who took over for an injured J.T. Barrett in the Big Ten Championship game, is Cardale Jones.
Jones threw for 243 yards and one touchdown against Alabama and added 43 yards on the ground.
He will square off against this year's Heisman Trophy winner, Oregon's Marcus Mariota. The Ducks' junior quarterback passed for 338 yards and two touchdowns against Florida State.
Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer has already won two national titles, during the 2006 and 2008 seasons with Florida.
Oregon head coach Mark Helfrich has never appeared in National Championship game since taking over the team in 2013.
Arlington will be the host city for the first-ever College Football Playoff National Championship at AT&T Stadium. This comes after also hosting the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic on New Year's Day.
