SHAKESPEARE COMPETITION

January 14, 10:30 am - 12:30 pm, Lake Arlington Library (4000 W. Green Oaks Blvd)
William Shakespeare fans in grades 9 through 12 are invited to participate in the first round of the National Shakespeare Competition, hosted by the English-Speaking Union of the United States. Choose a Shakespearean sonnet and monologue, memorize your selections, and perform them in front of judges. They will evaluate your understanding of the pieces, your ability to communicate them, and your artistic reciting skills. The winner of our event will go on to compete in Fort Worth and, if selected again, will have the chance to advance to competitions in New York and then London! No fees are associated with this program; however, registration is REQUIRED and must be completed no later than January 7. Please register online or call 817-478-3762 to register.
