Arlington Animal Services (AAS) was full of Christmas cheer as pets with their families experienced the "Paws with Santa Claus" event.
Friends of Arlington Animal Services( FAAS), Partners with Arlington Animal Services (PAAS), and AAS volunteers, including the senior volunteer group Golden People are Willing and Sharing (PAWS), all took part in the festivities. Celebrity pet therapy dog Leroy Brown of Respect A Bull, Inc. was present, donned in his best holiday apparel. Golden PAWS received donations for over 140 homemade items that directly benefit AAS. Over 31 families took part in the second annual diversity Santa holiday pictures by Roderick Cordova Photography, in partnership with Respect A Bull, Inc, with donations supporting spay and neutering of Pit Bulls in the community.
Community Pet Outreach arrived in their new mobile clinic and gave 94 low-cost vaccines, 12 heartworm tests, and 12 microchips.
At the animal services center, four city animal licenses were sold, and the groomer met over 40 families, giving away one gift of a complete make-over to a grateful senior pet. The animal education program also received $50 in donations.
Dawggie Dooz & Catz Too!!! was on-site with their mobile pet grooming studio offering low-cost pet nail clipping and ear cleaning.
AAS greatly appreciates the contributions of all the community partners that made this holiday event such a success.
