The 17th annual After Dark in the Park festival is a family-friendly fall event for children ages 2-10. The festival highlights the educational programs of River Legacy Living Science Center and features a unique children's craft and activities area. This event promotes wholesome family entertainment in the outdoors and nurtures our natural connection with Nature.
The event will take place from Oct. 11-13, from 5-9 p.m., at River Legacy Parks & River Legacy Living Science Center on 701 NW Green Oaks Blvd. in north Arlington.
Festival activities include:
- Karaoke
- Storytelling under the stars
- Animal encounters
- Pumpkin patch
- Walk on the wild side
- Bass Pro Camping Expo
- Face painting
- Balloon artists
- Hayride Shuttles from River Legacy Parks to Event entrance
- Concessions
- Games and Children's Activities
Admissions to the festival are $7 per person and children 2 and under are free (some activities and games cost additional). Family packs are currently on sale for $45 and include 4 admission tickets PLUS 40 coupons (a $48 value).Purchase tickets at Acorns Gift Shop inside River Legacy Living Science Center or Online Here. Festival hours are 5-9 p.m. each night. The admissions area closes at 8:30 p.m.; no entry will be permitted after 8:30 p.m.
Volunteer opportunities are available for this event. Assistance is needed for set-up and break down; facilitating games, crafts and activities during event hours; preparing and serving concessions. All proceeds from After Dark in the Park benefit the River Legacy Foundation, the environmental education programs of River Legacy Living Science Center and the continued preservation of River Legacy Parks.
