Enjoy Some Birdwatching

Learn what it takes to become a "birder' during this six-week series of Sunday classes at River Legacy Living Science Center led by the North Central Texas Master Birders. Take a guided bird tour after hearing about field etiquette, backyard birding, birding with kids, e-birding and other topics. Bring your binoculars are borrow a pair from River Legacy Park. Best suited for ages 10 and up. 8-10am on Sunday. FREE.

Bass Tournament & Fish Fry

Get your rod & reel ready for the first Lake Arlington Bass Tournament sponsored by Cabela's of Fort Worth. After the weigh-out, participants and spectators are invited to a lakeside cookout at Richard Simpson Park. Luigi Cinelli, chef at Ventana Grille at Tierra Verde Golf Club, is sponsoring the cookout. 6am-3pm on Saturday; fish fry begins at 3pm. Pre-registration is $30; same-day registration is $40.

AISD Youth Art at the AMA

Looking for amazing art created by local talent? Head over to the Arlington Museum of Art to enjoy an exhibit featuring works created by Arlington ISD students. "AISD Youth Art,' a collaboration between AISD and the AMA, gives students from Seguin High School and Sam Houston High School an opportunity to display their artistic creations for the general public to view. 10am – 5pm on Friday and Saturday; 1pm-5pm on Sunday. $8 for adults; $5 for seniors/students.

Sit, Stay, Smile

Come on out and bring your pet to the seventh annual Pet Fair presented by Studio Works Photography, 900 W. Abram Street. For a donation of $20 per pet, you will receive a pet portrait session and one 5' x 7' gift print. Donations will benefit Arlington Animal Services. Free goody bag for the 50 sessions scheduled. Groomers, veterinarians, pet photographers and others will be on hand to discuss pet-related services. 10am-3pm on Saturday.

Attack of the Movie Posters

Ever feel like your life could be a movie? Think you can make a better movie than Hollywood ever could? Here's your chance to show some creativity during a one-day event in The Studio at the George C. Hawkes Central Library, 101 E. Abram Street. The day will begin with library staff creating outlines of its very own movies. See how they use Adobe Photoshop to create posters for those movies. This program is for teens in 7th to 12th grade only. 2-4pm on Saturday. Registration is required. FREE.
