Get Your Pajamas Ready!
Pack your tents and sleeping bags and set out for a night in the wilderness, right here in the city. The "Tents & Tales' campout at River Legacy Park includes dinner, a movie under the stars, sleeping bag story time, s'mores and a campfire. Check-in and tent setup begins at 4pm on Friday, March 22. Tent time for the campout will be called at 11 p.m.. Everyone will pack up and leave around 7 a.m. on Saturday, March 23. Fee: $10 per person; kids two and under are free.
Enjoy Native American Culture
The 24thannual Texas Indian Market & Southwest Showcase returns to the Arlington Convention Center on Friday, March 22 and runs through Sunday, March 24. This colorful three-day event features beautiful artwork from more than 110 artists, live dance and concert performances, a food court with delicious cuisine, and special attractions like the Hawkquest love birds show. 1-7pm on Friday; 10am-7pm on Saturday; 10am-6pm on Sunday. Admission is $12; kids 13 and under are free. Single admission good for all three days.
Paint Cowboys Stadium
If you've ever thought about painting Cowboys Stadium, here's your chance. No, there won't be any paint brushes.just flashlights and other light sources. Photographers from Rochester Institute of Technology are hoping more than 5,000 volunteers join them during the 28th annual RIT Big Shot to create a unique picture of Cowboys Stadium. Wear dark clothing and bring a flashlight. 7pm on Saturday. Pre-registration is required. Free.
Art on The Greene
Arlington's premiere arts festival is the place to be this weekend. The second annual Art on the Greene, a three-day festival at Richard Greene Linear Park, will feature 75 of the country's finest artists, prominent live entertainment and local food. Bring blankets and chairs to relax on the park's lawn and enjoy the entertainment. 3-11pm on Friday, 11am-11pm on Saturday, and 11am-5pm on Sunday. Free.
AISD Youth Art at the AMA
View the energy and imagination of young and up-and-coming artists in the colorful exhibit "AISD Youth Art.' a collaboration between AISD and the Arlington Museum of Art. Students from Arlington High School and Bowie High School now have an opportunity to showcase their artistic creations for the general public to view for free (donations are welcome). 10am – 5pm on Friday and Saturday; 1pm-5pm on Sunday..
