WrestleMania is coming to The American Dream City for the first time, marking yet another major event for the City after this month's College Football Playoff National Championship.
Wrestlemania 32 will be held at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, TX on Sunday, April 3, 2016.
A media event was held at the stadium featuring Mayor Robert Cluck, Dallas Cowboys Executive Vice President/CBO Charlotte Jones Anderson, WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon, WWE Chief Brand Officer Stephanie McMahon, WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan, WWE Superstar John Cena and other WWE Superstars and Divas, to celebrate the announcement.
WrestleMania 32 will mark the third time WWE's biggest show has been held in Texas (WrestleMania 17 and 25 were held in Houston).
This comes after the City and AT&T Stadium hosted the first-ever CFP National Championship, NCAA Men's Final Four in 2014, Super Bowl XLV in 2011 and George Strait's final concert on June 7, 2014, which set concert attendance records for North America with more than 104,000 fans buying tickets.
"I'm the only mayor in the country with smile on his face all the time … because of events like this," said Mayor Cluck at today's press conference.
WrestleMania 32 will be broadcast live on WWE Network and pay-per-view in more than 170 countries, allowing Arlington, TX the chance to receive international exposure.
Last year, WrestleMania 30 at Mercedes-Benz Superdome generated more than $142 million in economic impact for the New Orleans region.
