APRD requests public attendance at town meetings for "PROS Plan'update

The Arlington Parks and Recreation Department has requested the attendance of Arlington citizens at one of five public meetings, in order to update the City's Park Recreation and Open Space (PROS) Plan. The department recognizes that citizens' input is vital to providing exceptional park and recreation opportunities for our growing community. The department would like public feedback to help identify community preferences and priorities. The APRD will use an open house format that will allow the public to visit stations to discuss service delivery options for:
  • Recreation and Aquatic Centers
  • Natural Areas and the Environment
  • Trails and Greenways
  • Forestry and Beautification
  • Recreation Trends (dog parks, skateboard facilities, community gardens, etc.)
  • Park Development(athletic fields, picnic areas, playgrounds, courts, etc.)

At each meeting, a short overview presentation will be held at 6:30 p.m. with an open house before and after the presentation. Please mark your calendar to attend one of the following meetings scheduled in your area (coinciding with the City's five geographic City Council districts):

District 2 (Southwest Arlington) - Boles Junior High School Monday, March 25, 2013, 6-8 p.m. District 1 (North Arlington) - River Legacy Living Science Center Thursday, March 28, 2013, 6-8 p.m. District 3 (Southeast Arlington) - Ousley Junior High School Monday, April 1, 2013, 6-8 p.m. District 4 (West Arlington) - Fire Training Center Thursday, April 4, 2013, 6-8 p.m. District 5 (East/Central Arlington) - City Hall - Council Briefing Room Monday, April 15, 2013, 6-8 p.m. Let your voice help shape Arlington's future.
