- What's your name? Barbara
- Nick name? Grandsons call me Bubba
- How long have you been a volunteer? Two years
- Where are you from? California
- What music CD do you like? Boz Scaggs Silk Degrees or Santana's Supernatural.
- What's the last movie you saw? Blue Jasmine
- What's your favorite animal? No favorites, appreciate them all. Somehow fostered kittens even though I was supposed to foster dogs! Fell in love with each and every one of them.
- What's your favorite reality show? Pitbulls and Parolees of course!
- What book are you reading right now? Aftershock: Confronting Trauma in a Violent World, by Patrice Jones
- Where was your last vacation? The adult kids took me on a cruise to Spain and Portugal two years ago.
- What's your favorite quote or saying? "Each snowflake in an avalanche pleads not guilty." ~Stanislaw Jerzy Lec
- What's your favorite hobby? Photography
- How much time do you spend volunteering per week? A lot! I used to work mainly on the adoption floor at AAS but because of other commitments (related to animals) my hours are a bit more dispersed these days.
- What do you enjoy most about volunteering? Saving lives. I value animal lives no less than human lives, so it is very important to me that we do the best possible job matching appropriate animals to appropriate homes. I would love to work to see the adoption returns and owner surrenders decrease. I also love working with fearful and traumatized animals - guess that is the retired therapist in me.
