The NFL season gets underway this Sunday, September 10, 2017 with an NFC East showdown between the New York Giants and Dallas Cowboys at AT-T Stadium in Arlington. Quarterback Dak Prescott enters his second regular season after an impressive rookie campaign. Prescott led the Cowboys to a 13-3 record last season as the team went on to win an NFC East Division title. Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m. CT and the game will be nationally televised on NBC. Pup parents, rejoice! The City of Arlington's second public dog park will officially open this Saturday, September 9. The dedication ceremony will take place from 10 to noon on Saturday. The park is located at 1900 Valleywood Drive off West Pioneer Parkway near Green Oaks Boulevard. The seven-acre park from Arlington Parks and Recreation features drinking water fountains, shaded seating areas with benches that look like doggy bones and four fenced-in areas for off-leash play. The park also includes designated areas for large and small dogs, security lighting and two parking lots with at least 60 spaces.
Live music continues this weekend at the Levitt Pavilion Arlington for the 2017 fall concert series in Downtown! This weekend's lineup includes The Roosevelts on Friday, Deryl Dodd on Saturday and Alex Cuba on Sunday. All concerts begin at 8 p.m. Later in the fall, classic rock band Kansas will headline Levitt Pavilion's annual benefit concert on Sept. 23. Best known for their two gold single hits, “Carry On My Wayward Son” and “Dust in the Wind,” Kansas is celebrating more than 40 years as one of America's most iconic rock bands. The Texas Rangers are at Globe Life Park in Arlington for a three-game series against the New York Yankees on Friday, September 8 through Sunday, September 10, 2017. There will be fireworks after the game on Friday (7:05 p.m. start time). The Rangers will also celebrate Hispanic Heritage Night at Globe Life Park on Friday. On Saturday, the first 15,000 fans will receive a Rangers On-Deck Circle Mousepad. That game gets underway at 12:05 p.m. Sunday is $1 Blue Bell Ice Cream Sunday for fans ages 13 - under. First pitch on Sunday is at 2:05 p.m.

The water park in Arlington's Entertainment District will be open Saturday and Sunday, September 9-10, 2017. Hurricane Harbor will be open from 11:00 a.m. to 6 p.m. both days.
