The Dallas Opera plans to show its 2014 simulcast featuring Italian composer Gioachino Rossini's "The Barber of Seville" at AT&T Stadium April 11.

The free event is open to the public and would allow attendees to view the performance on the large high-definition video structure at the stadium.

"It's the closest view you'd ever get of those artists," said Suzanne Calvin, Dallas Opera director of media relations."It's a new way of looking at opera."

Calvin said the event invites a more casual and festive atmosphere, and she anticipates seeing a diverse and mixed-generational audience.

Doors open at 6 p.m., and the event will kick-start at 7 p.m. with a showing of Warner Brothers Classics "Rabbit of Seville," starring Bugs Bunny and Elmer Fudd. The live opera performance begins at 7:30 p.m.

"I hope that the centralized location of AT&T Stadium will-once again-prove to be an irresistible magnet," said Dallas Opera General Director and CEO, Keith Cerny, in a press a release. "With free parking, classic cartoons, a wear-what-you-want dress code, phenomenal performances, on-screen supertitles and plenty of available concessions-this night will continue to redefine 21^st century opera as a user-friendly entertainment experience."
