ESPN announced earlier this week that the baseball game between UT Arlington and Texas A&M on April 21 will be broadcast on the SEC Network.
First pitch for the Mavericks matchup with the Aggies is now set for 2:05 p.m. at Olsen Field at Blue Bell Park in College Station.
"We usually have three or four television games a year and it's nice to get that exposure,"UT Arlington coach Darin Thomas said. "Hopefully we come out and play well in these games like we were able to do last year."
The Mavericks baseball team is coming off of a 33-26 season that ended in the Sun Belt Conference championship game. UTA also had a record number of players taken in the 2014 MLB draft as six Mavs were selected, raising UTA's all-time draft total to 48 players.
The 2015 season will have UTA playing a 56-game slate that features a 26-game nonconference schedule and 30 games in the Sun Belt. The nonconference portion of the Mavericks schedule is highlighted by 10 games against schools from Power Five conferences, including a game against Texas at Globe Life Park.
The game on April 21 will be the 35th matchup between the two schools with Texas A&M holding a 26-8 advantage in the all-time series. The Mavs last victory against the Aggies came in 2012 when UTA took down Texas A&M 3-2 in College Station.
