Texas Rangers Select Manhattan Construction Co. as Ballpark General Contractor
The Texas Rangers selected Manhattan Construction Company as the general contractor for the new ballpark.
Manhattan Construction Company first worked for the Rangers organization in 1994 when it built the Texas Rangers' current home, Globe Life Park in Arlington. Since that time, the company completed five renovation/upgrade projects on the ballpark. Manhattan Construction Company also built the ballpark's next door neighbor, AT-T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys.
"There was great interest and competition for the General Contractor's role to build our new ballpark. However, at the end of the interviews and qualification process, one firm stood out above the rest, and that was Manhattan Construction," said Rob Matwick, executive vice president of business operations for the Texas Rangers.
"We're fortunate to have a world class company like Manhattan in our own backyard. As a builder, Manhattan prides itself on its ability to lead these complex fast track projects, which result in some of the most iconic buildings in the world. We're thrilled to partner with the Manhattan team to deliver a new, state of the art ballpark in the City of Arlington for our fans and players," Matwick said.
In addition to sports projects, Manhattan's portfolio is diverse in terms of project size and type, including new construction and renovation of hospitals, airports, education, cultural, commercial, hospitality, government, entertainment, mixed-use and multi-unit living projects. Manhattan Construction is a seven-time recipient of the STEP Diamond honor, a top safety honor of the Associated Builders and Contractors, and a winner of the 2016 ABC National Safety Excellence Award and of the 2016 Associated General Contractors Construction Safety Excellence Award.
