Practices are underway in The American Dream City this week for the first-ever College Gridiron Showcase.

The college football all-star game gives athletes the opportunity to showcase their talents for scouts from the NFL, CFL and AFL.

It will take place on Saturday, January 31 at UTA's Maverick Stadium in Arlington, TX. Kickoff for the event is at 1:30 p.m. and gates open at 12:30 p.m.

The game will be televised nationally on Comcast Sports Network and can be seen on North Texas Sports Network.

The two head coaches will be former Dallas Cowboys tight end Doug Cosbie for the Wranglers and Marcus Dupree for the Desperados, who has worked as a scout in the NFL.

The players will attend meetings, have practice, perform individual drills, 1 on 1's, team drills and in many cases have personal interviews with the scouts and executives from professional clubs.

The College Gridiron Showcase gives young athletes the chance to pursue and possibly realize their dreams of becoming professional football players.

For more information on how to purchase tickets for the game, please visit the College Gridiron Showcase's website.
