The AISD Board of Trustees was honored during a reception Thursday night for being named the 2014 Texas Association of School Administrators Outstanding School Board of Texas! The TASA Outstanding School Board of Texas award honors one school board from the state's 1,027 independent school districts that has demonstrated dedication to student achievement and makes every effort to put students first.
Representatives from the Arlington City Council, Tarrant County, the University of Texas at Arlington, Tarrant County College and the Arlington Chamber of Commerce were on hand to make congratulatory remarks during the event, and TASA Executive Director Johnny Veselka presented the board with a plaque.
The board was also treated to outstanding artwork by talented Morton Elementary students as a part of January's School Board Recognition Month. These students created original artwork based on this year's theme "A Work of Heart."
