MyArlingtonTV is taking a trip across The American Dream City to showcase some of the diverse musical acts happening in Arlington's schools, restaurants, churches and neighborhoods.
Hosted by Tika Cook, "Backstage Arlington" highlights some of the different music acts and performing venues that exist in Arlington. The newest episode features Mike DeLoach and his Road Side Preachers, a band focusing on "roots rock" and exploring the origins of the genre from the late 1940s and 1950s.
The group is a hit at J. Gilligan's Bar & Grill, a hot spot that has been a Downtown Arlington staple since 1979. Owner Randy Ford has been providing a home for live music and local bands for decades. You can find out more about future entertainment at the restaurant's website and be sure to check out Randy Ford's American Dream story.
Residents can find rock n' roll, jazz, R&B, country, gospel, pop, orchestral music, theatrical musicals and much more throughout Arlington and this show will allow the city to find the personal stories behind the music.
All episodes are also available on the City's YouTube channel.
