If you have a child whose eyes light up at the sights and sounds of big trucks, then you don't want to miss the Arlington Public Library's second annual Touch-a-Truck!
From 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, October 15, as many as 20 different big vehicles will fill the parking lot of the First United Methodist Church at 313 E. North St. for this community-driven event. Children and their families are invited to explore, touch, and learn about fire engines, recycling trucks, police cars, water vehicles, and more.
"We wanted to give children an opportunity to touch, explore, and experience the large vehicles they see and read about," programming librarian Bethany Fort said. "It's exciting to see the children and drivers interact and families learn about the vehicles and the different careers represented."
Two truck-themed storytimes will take place during the event, sensory activities will be available for little hands to explore, and books will be available for checkout to anyone with an Arlington Public Library card.
Parking for this free event will be available in the lots on Center Street across from the FUMC lot. For more information on the vehicles that will be present, check the library's online calendar, and follow the library onFacebook, Twitter, and Instagram to stay up-to-date with all the latest library news.
