South Street Arts Festival to Bring Music, Artists and Brewers Downtown October 14-16
Returning for its fourth year, the South Street Arts Festival aims to give artists, musicians and brewers a place to find their audience.
The three-day festival is scheduled from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday, October 14, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, October 15 and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, October 16 on South Street between Mesquite and East streets in downtown Arlington. Admission is free and free parking is available throughout the downtown district.
Visitors will be able to peruse more than 50 artist booths, showcasing and selling works in all forms of fine arts including ceramics, fiber, glass, mixed media, photography, sculpture and more. Notable items include steam punk jewelry and innovative metal works.
"I want these artists to come to Arlington and have a good experience" said Festival Director Steve Moya, adding that his goal is to build a festival to rival Dallas or Fort Worth.
On Friday, crowds can sway to the sounds of Scant from 8 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. On Saturday, Bad Moon Rising - a Credence Clearwater Revival tribute band - will perform from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. followed by Jason Elmore & Hoodoo Witch from 8 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Sunday's lineup is still being confirmed.
Visitors can also enjoy craft brews from 10 Dallas-Fort Worth area brewers, such as Wild Acre Brewing Co, Shannon Brewing Co, Division Brewing, Legal Draft, Lakewood and more. Domestic beers will also be available for purchase.
Vendors will also serve festival fare, from barbeque and fried gator to funnel cake paradise.
