Eli Young Band House Party

If you love good country music, then Rangers Ballpark in Arlington will be the place to be Saturday night. Denton's Eli Young Band will host a "House Party" right on the field. All the fun begins at 5:00 p.m. and features the Josh Abbott Band, Thompson Square and Easton Corbin. This event will be the first stand-alone country concert at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington.

UT Arlington Wheelchair Basketball Invitational 2013

See teams from the University of Illinois and University of Alabama move into Maverick Country to take on the legendary University of Texas at Arlington Movin' Mavs and lady Mavs in tournament play. The three-day tournament will be hosted in the Maverick Activities Center. Friday's game tips off at 9:00 a.m.; Saturday and Sunday's games start at noon. Admission is free.

CATS: Quarter Auction

Looking to stretch your holiday shopping budget a little further this year? Head on over to the Creative Arts & Theatre School's (CATS), 602 E. South Street, for its annual "Quarter Auction" fundraiser. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., with the auction beginning at 7:15 p.m. It's a fundraiser (a cross between a raffle and an auction) where guests bid on great items using quarters instead of larger sums of money. This enables you to get valuable items for as little as 25 cents, 50 cents, 75 cents or a dollar! Admission: $5; paddle is $2. Don't forget your quarters.

Theatre Arlington presents: Of Mice and Men

This American classic follows two drifters, George and his friend Lennie, who have just arrived at a ranch to work for enough money to buy their own place. Lennie is a man-child, a little boy in the body of a dangerously powerful man. When a ranch boss' promiscuous wife is found dead in the barn with a broken neck, it's obvious that Lennie, albeit accidentally, killed her. George, now worried about his own safety, knows exactly where Lennie has gone to hide, and he meets him there. Realizing they can't run away anymore, George is faced with a moral question: how should he deal with Lennie before the ranchers find him and take matters into their own hands. Theatre Arlington is located at 305 W. Main Street. Performances oare Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m; Sunday at 2:00 p.m. Tickets: $22 for adults; $20 for students/seniors.

Arlington Museum of Art: Mitch Wilson Memorial Festival of Trees

Get into the holiday spirit by visiting the colorful Mitch Wilson Memorial Festival of Trees at the Arlington Museum of Art, 201 W. Main Street, which runs through December 29. This exhibition features Santa Claus illustrations and paintings by artist Tom Newsom, trimmed trees and other holiday decorations, a gift store, artist demonstrations and much more!
