In honor of National Drinking Water Week, which runs May 3-9, the City of Arlington in partnership with the American Water Works Association (AWWA), is sponsoring the annual celebration to increase public awareness of drinking water. The AWWA, with more than 60,000 members, is the oldest and largest nonprofit organization dedicated to safe water in North America.
National Drinking Water Week is a time to reflect and appreciate the value high-quality tap water provides for our community including public health and fire protection, support for the economy and quality of life.
In Arlington, the recognition included a proclamation from city leaders on April 27.
Recently, Arlington "s water was recognized for being among the best tasting in the state. The city won the "Best Tasting Surface Water in Texas "award during the the 2015 Texas Water Utilities Association "s Best Tasting Water Contest held in Corpus Christi.

"The team has reaffirmed its recognized position as a leader in producing high quality and aesthetically pleasing water.
