Hear ye, hear ye! For one day only, the Middle Ages will come to life in downtown Arlington when the Arlington Public Library presents the 14th annual Medieval Arts Festival on Saturday, October 22, from noon to 5 p.m. at the Levitt Pavilion.
Featuring exhibits of medieval arts and sciences, live demonstrations of ancient weaponry by members of the Society for Creative Anachronism, and activities for children, this free annual event has something for everyone.Medieval Facts Examiner Troy Depue will discuss life in the Middle Ages, while storyteller Dorayne Breedlove presents Knights, Kings, Queens and Dragons an interactive storytime that invites audience participation at 3 p.m.
"The Medieval Festival is such a unique event for our community," programming librarian David Jackson said. "Whether you come to learn, explore, people-watch, or just be entertained, chances are you'll walk away having seen something you never saw or experienced before. It's always a great time."
