14th Annual Medieval Arts Festival
For one day only, the Middle Ages will come to life in downtown Arlington when the Arlington Public Library presents the 14th annual Medieval Arts Festival on Saturday, October 22, from noon to 5 p.m. at the Levitt Pavilion. Featuring exhibits of medieval arts and sciences, live demonstrations of ancient weaponry by members of the Society for Creative Anachronism, and activities for children, this free annual event has something for everyone.Medieval Facts Examiner Troy Depue will discuss life in the Middle Ages, while storyteller Dorayne Breedlove presents Knights, Kings, Queens and Dragons an interactive storytime that invites audience participation at 3 p.m. Updates about the festival, including fun facts about life in the Middle Ages, can be found by following the library on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
Arlington Parks and Recreation's Food Truck Friday Lunch Series
The good times and great food are rolling into Arlington, Texas once again for fall 2016! Starting Friday, October 21, 2016, join Arlington Parks and Recreation for the department's Food Truck Lunches at Founders Plaza/ Levitt Pavilion from 11 AM - 2 PM. The final Food Truck Friday lunch will be November 11. Food truck line-ups will be announced the Wednesday before each event. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and picnic blankets to the food truck events, as seating is limited. Come on out with family and friends and enjoy music, fun and great food from our area food trucks.

Enjoy a night of tennis, music and refreshments with Arlington Parks and Recreation this Saturday, October 22, 2016 from 5-8 p.m. All levels of adults will play short matches and games for prizes. Join Arlington Parks and Recreation for a gruesome good time at Hugh Smith Indoor Pool's Spooky Swamp this Friday, October 21 from 6-8 PM. Bring the whole family for a fun night of swimming, tricks and treats. The cost is $2.50 per person and no registration or facility card is required. Luke Bryan's "Kill the Lights" Tour at AT&T Stadium
Two-time CMA and ACM Entertainer of the Year Luke Bryan makes his way to AT&T Stadium in Arlington this Saturday, October 22 and he's bringing four country music sensations with him for his "Kill the Lights" tour. Chris Stapleton, Little Big Town, Dustin Lynch and DJ Rock will also be on hand for the concert that kicks off at 5:30 p.m. CT. Since the debut of his first album in 2007, Luke Bryan has placed 14 singles at No. 1 and sold nearly eight million albums with 30 million digital tracks from his five studio albums. Six Flags Over Texas Fright Fest
Six Flags Over Texas has announced it will introduce Rage of the Gargoyles Virtual Reality on the Shock Wave roller coaster during this year's Fright Fest! Using Samsung Gear VR powered by Oculus, riders are transported into the incredibly immersive world of virtual reality and become pilots of an Apache-style helicopter and transported into a futuristic battle against blood-thirsty gargoyles on Shock Wave. Also new this Fright Fest season, those who are brave enough to walk the park's midways at night will be introduced to a wicked and blood thirsty journey in the scare zone Black Widow's Walk and the ultimate full-sensory adventure - Blackout haunted house. Fright Fest runs, on select days, through Monday, October 31.
"Ulterior Motifs" at Arlington Museum of Art - LAST WEEKEND
The Arlington Museum of Art, Arlington Cultural Tourism Council, and Wheeler Bro's Studios is proud to present the 14th instillation of the renowned group exhibition known as Ulterior Motifs. Conceived in 1999 by Jeffrey and Bryan Wheeler as a celebratory exhibition of Lubbock art and music, this semi-regular show has gradually evolved into a wider presentation of prominent contemporary artists who live in or maintain strong ties to Texas. Evening in France at Arlington Museum of Art
Head over to Downtown Arlington to hear the music of influential French composer Claude Debussy at Arlington Museum of Art this Friday, October 21, 2016 at 8 p.m. CT. The Debussy piano trio will be performed by violinist LeeAnne Chenoweth, pianist Heejung Kang, and cellist Karen M. Smith. His songs will be sung by soprano Claudia Gonzalez Smith. Tenor Sergio Cepeda will also be performing songs of France. The saucy arias of Bizet's opera "Carmen" will be included, as well as a bit of Ravel (Bolero perhaps!), and songs of the French pop genre. Country Gold Tour at Arlington Music Hall
Leroy Van Dyke, of "Auctioneer" and "Walk On By" fame, star of the movie, "What Am I Bid?" is known around the world as an entertainer, recording artist, radio and television star, actor, auctioneer and veteran of the Nevada circuit. Barbara Fairchild's career in country music accelerated in 1973. She was nominated for a Grammy when her song, "The Teddy Bear Song" reached #1 on the charts. She has had many hits following "The Teddy Bear Song", including "Baby Doll" and "Kid Stuff". Claude Gray's first hit was the classic song "The Family Bible" which was a country smash at the time reaching No. 7 on the Billboard charts.
