The Dallas Wings defeated the San Antonio Stars 82-77 in a sellout inaugural home opener on Saturday, May 21.
"It felt great," said Odyssey Sims, who scored 23 points for the night. "I was very excited to play. It's the home opener and I know that everyone was looking forward to it, especially me. I was really excited and I was happy to see my friends and family come to the game to support me and my teammates."
Sims led the team in all points, registering a season high of 23 points. She went 5-for-14 in field goals and was 11-for-12 in behind the free throw line. Karima Christmas scored 14 points, while Courtney Paris collected 15 boards, a season high. Aerial Powers also scored double figures with 12 points and Plenette Pierson 11 points.
The Wings win at the University of Texas at Arlington's College Park Center was in front of a sellout crowd with 7,275 in attendance.
The Dallas Wings are back in action Friday, May 27 and Sunday, May 29.
