From line dancing to embarking on a new adventure, the City of Arlington's Parks and Recreation Departments offers numerous ways for seniors to stay active throughout the year, no matter what the weather looks like outside. Here's a list of five fun ways to stay healthy and active in The American Dream City.
2. Stay cool in the pool
Come and make the pool your gym with a variety of indoor water aerobics classes at the Hugh Smith Indoor Pool, located at 1815 New York Ave. The indoor pool features a 86 degree water temperature year round, handicap access, and changing room and restroom facilities. 3. Adventure is out there.
Whether you want to go solo, as a couple or as a small group of friends, come join Eunice Activity Center and Senior Recreation Center New York on monthly adult day trips.
An upcoming day trip destination is First Monday Trade Days in Canton, Texas, on Friday, Nov. 3rd. Cost is $15 per person. Registration is required.

4. Outdoor exercise
Come and enhance your balance, flexibility and fitness at Arlington's two new age-friendly, ADA compliant, senior wellness exercise systems at Clarence Foster Park, 4400 Woodland Park Blvd., and Wimbledon Park, 2300 Wimbledon Dr.
Each system includes four wellness stations with a total of 18 activities. The stations are connected by a center deck allowing easy transfer between activities which include Tai Chi wheels, Balance - Hip Twist Balance Beam, a Hand Bike and so much more.
The system incorporates a variety of activities that focus on flexibility and core muscle strength.
5. Line dance your way into fitness
Enjoy a great mind-body workout while dancing your way to better health! Singles or couples can come and join a new Fitness Beginners Line Dance Class every Thursday at 12:30 p.m. at Eunice Activity Center,1000 Eunice Street. Cost is $4 per class and it's a way to boost your brain power by improving your memory skills, strengthen your bones without hurting your joints, develop better balance to help prevent falls and release stress so you feel great.
