More than 700 volunteers are expected to participate in community service and outreach in Arlington and surrounding areas.
The Big Event, name given to this year's volunteer program, is scheduled for April 11 from 9 a.m to 1 p.m.
Student, faculty, and staff have made this particular community outreach a school tradition, this being the 15th year.
The campus wants to demonstrate gratitude to those who help others; community based and nonprofit organizations, local residents, and seniors are among those who benefit from this program.
Not only does the American Dream city get beautified, but it's also a chance for students to get to know one another outside the classroom and for locals to know that the Mavericks are always willing to lend a hand.
Project sites for this year include spring cleaning at the Arlington Museum of Arts, painting at Randall Mill Park, assistance at Arlington Animal Services Center, and inventory at the Arlington Public Library among many others.
Registration for many of the project sites is still open and volunteers are still needed. For registration or more information click here.
