Drum Roll, please…Introducing Drumming Around Town with Jeromy Bailey! Drumming Around Town is a new monthly library program that gives everyone an opportunity to feel the beat! The monthly drum group will practice outside of a different library location every meeting and feature students from various high schools that are near the participating branch. The event encourages kids to network with each other in a positive way while promoting music and drumming education. Practice pads and sticks will be provided and virtually no noise interruption for the community.
The group will promote literacy for the young and young at heart and spotlight music education as an integral part of the fine arts. Drumming Around Town helps boost Arlington Public Library 's goal to support quality education. Mr. Bailey, a former UTA Music Education major and local educator, who teaches drums and percussion partnered with the library on the unique idea. He encourages different ages and experiences levels to come because he thinks it will help spark an interest in teaching for some of the children.
"I think this will help spark interest in teaching for some of the kids too, " Bailey said. "Maybe they could go around and help the others. That 'd be cool. "
The Drumming Around Town program will be featured during the Arlington Public Library 's Summer Reading Club Kick Off Celebration as a pre-event performance. Don 't miss this community drummers ' collaboration with AISD middle and high school students!
