Hope-Tutoring

The H.O.P.E. Tutoring Center, with six tutoring sites, has served more than 2,500 students in Arlington since 1996.

The nonprofit invites the community to attend its annual Night of HOPE fundraiser so it can continue its mission of providing free individual tutoring to children in grades three through eight in a safe learning environment.

The Night of HOPE event is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. April 14 at Trinity United Methodist Church, 1200 W. Green Oaks Blvd. in Arlington. Tickets, available online or at the door, are $45 a person or $360 for a table of eight.

"The Night of HOPE is a time when we can celebrate the difference our tutoring program is making in Arlington and the people who make it possible," board member Kevin Walters said. "We have a lot of fun together, and we want to help people be a part of this significant project."

Guests will enjoy dinner from On The Border followed by entertainment provided by the Sam Houston High School Mariachi Band. The keynote speaker will be Stephanie Gillespie, Community Services Manager of the Arlington Police Department. Her topic will be "Every Child Needs One Committed Adult."

Attendees can also participate in a silent auction and a raffle. H.O.P.E. will be raffling two baskets filled with electronics.

All proceeds go directly to benefit the free tutoring programs of the H.O.P.E. Tutoring Center.
