Want a chance to win a free getaway this summer? All it takes is a few hours of reading time!
For adults 18 and older, the Arlington Public Library's Summer Reading Club offers participants who log at least five hours of reading time a shot at winning a staycation prize pack valued at more than $1,300.
Prizes include lodging at the Thornton Inn and Comfort Suites; tickets to area attractions including Six Flags Over Texas, a Texas Rangers game, Theatre Arlington, UTA Planetarium, Legoland Discovery Center, Sea Life Grapevine, the International Bowling Museum, AMF Bowling, Arlington Skatium, and AT&T Stadium; and dining gift cards for Sonic, Rudy's BBQ, Which Witch, and Pot Belly.
Participants of all ages can use their library card to sign up for the Summer Reading Club at mysrc.org. There are reading challenges and prizes for every age, in addition to free programs throughout the summer.
Summer Reading Club runs through July 30, and the winner of the adult staycation will be drawn at random and notified the week of August 1.
The Summer Reading Club Final Celebration will take place on Sunday, August 7, from 2-4 p.m. at Globe Life Park, where children are invited to play and enjoy activities the indoor Kids Zone, and adults can take in the ballpark views from the Hyundai Club.
