Tatum Henderson, a senior for Martin High School's girls basketball and track teams, has been selected as the City of Arlington's Student-Athlete of the Month for March 2018.
Tatum is a two-time 1st Team All-District basketball player and was selected as Team Captain for both her junior and senior seasons.
"Her work ethic is contagious," said Casey Thompson, Track & Field Coach for Martin High School. "It spreads to others and that's just a great example of her as a leader and leading by example for her teammates."
In January 2018, the senior guard hit the game-winning shot from nearly 60 feet away as the buzzer sounded. It gave Martin High School a 56-53 overtime victory over rival Lamar High School.
Tatum, whose favorite subject is English, hasn't decided on a college. However, she does plan to continue her athletic career and major in either kinesiology or education.
