On the Clock is a show that gives residents an inside look at the hard work city employees do every day to make Arlington a better community to live, learn, work and play.
This month's episode, hosted by City Manager Trey Yelverton, gives residents a behind-the-scenes look at the City of Arlington's street light maintenance crew in the Public Works and Transportation Department.
All 22,000 street lights in Arlington are currently maintained and repaired by the street lights crew. Residents are encouraged to report street lights that need repair by calling the Action Center at 817-459-6777 or through the free Ask Arlington mobile app. Users can track the real-time progress of how their street light is being repaired.
Lamp replacement and other routine maintenance needs are typically completed within two working days. However, more extensive repairs, such as bad underground wiring, can take up to 10 workings days to complete.
