With major contributions to North Texas as an author, philanthropist, television/radio commentator and professor, Allan Saxe continues to wear many hats and his imprint on the City of Arlington is undeniable.
Saxe's mother left him $500,000 upon her death and he has used that money to give back to The American Dream City in a big way.
Allan Saxe Park, Allan Saxe Parkway, Allan Saxe Dental Clinic at Mission Arlington, The University of Texas at Arlington's Allan Saxe Field. These are just a few of the many contributions Saxe has made through his years of philanthropy.
In fact, there are more than 20 installations of businesses and city institutions in the Dallas-Fort Worth area currently named after him for donations he has made.
Saxe, an associate professor of political science at The University of Texas at Arlington since 1965 and an adjunct at TCC's Southeast Campus since 2004, is also an accomplished author and lecturer. His opinions are sought after for newspapers, magazine articles and radio talk shows.
In 2015, UT Arlington celebrated 50 years of Allan Saxe at a reception for the associate professor of political science. Several political leaders, local officials and campus administrators were in attendance.
Dreams come true here in Arlington and Saxe hopes his legacy as a philanthropist continues to pay dividends for generations to come.
"Donating money is a wonderful deal," Saxe said. "I love it. Arlington has been a wonderful place to me. I think it has a great future ahead and it has been a dream city for me."
