Get Half Price Pool Admission with a Donated School Supply Item Aug. 1-12
Make a splash in your local community by donating a new school supply item and get half price admission at any Arlington outdoor pool from August 1st to 12th.
The Arlington Parks and Recreation Department sets out collection buckets at each of th'City 's six outdoor pools to collect supplies for Mission Arlington.
The Parks Department 's school supply driv'is in its sixth year and has made a positiv'impact for families in need, said Erin Ward, Aquatics Program Coordinator.
'It is our honor and privilege to help our patrons give back to their own community, ' Ward said.
One pool admission discount is availabl'per donated item.

Mission Arlington, which helped more than 9,000 students with school supplies in 2015, is currently collecting supplies for the upcoming school year.
Mission Arlington, along with Mission Metroplex, helped more than 9,000 students with school supplies in 2015. This year, the charity is looking to beat that number and make an even greater difference in the lives of Arlington school children.
Mission Arlington, located at 210 W. South Street in downtown Arlington, is celebrating its 30th year serving the community. The school supplies drive is one of many projects undertaken by Mission Arlington. Last year, Mission Arlington gave away 34,000 toys to children during Christmas and during Thanksgiving volunteers ther'served more than 6,000 dinners to families in need.
Getting involved with Mission Arlington is easy, said Executive Director Tillie Burgin.
'Walk in the door and we can put you to work. Everyone here is family, ' Burgin said.
Mission Arlington has identified items that they are specifically looking for, such as:

- Pencils
- Crayons
- Highlighters
- Pink Erasers
- Spiral Notebooks
- Scissors
- Rulers
