Arlington Dispatch Services has maintained the status of an accredited public safety communications center with the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA) since 2004. CALEA granted Arlington Dispatch Services re-accreditation on July 31, 2016 following a hearing by the Commission. CALEA accreditation is recognized as the gold standard in public safety (www.calea.org) and every accredited agency must be reviewed every three years.
This recognition is a result of a comprehensive inspection and on-site evaluation by a team of CALEA accessors to determine compliance with more than 200 standards. The accreditation process demonstrates Arlington Dispatch Services is willing and able to provide the public with the highest standards of service and professionalism available from a public safety communications center. There are 92 accredited public safety communications centers in the United States and two in Mexico.
