Workshop Offers Private Water Well Testing, Tips to Improve and Protect Water Quality
The Tarrant County AgriLife Extension and Trinity River Authority invite you to attend the Texas Well Owner Network Workshop for the Village Creek-Lake Arlington Watershed.
This workshop is for anyone interested in private water well management and for those interested in learning about ways to improve and protect their community 's water resources. The workshop will provide participants with information about Texas groundwater resources, septic system maintenance, water well maintenance and construction, and water quality and treatment.
The event, which is free and open to the public, is scheduled from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 18 at the Crowley Recreation Center, 405 South Oak Street in Crowley.
Participants who would like to have their well water tested can pick up a kit containing two sampling containers and collection instructions at one of the following locations:
- TRA General Office ' 5300 South Collins St. in Arlington
- Tarrant County AgriLife Extension Office ' 200 Taylor St. in Fort Worth
- Johnson County Extension Office ' 1 North Main St. #309 in Cleburne
- Crowley Recreation Center ' 405 South Oak St. in Crowley
Participants may bring their water samples to the workshop. The cost of analysis will be $10, due when the sample is turned in. Samples will be analyzed for nitrates, total dissolved solids, and bacteria. Participants are asked to collect samples within 24 hours before the workshop to ensure accurate results.
