A new co-working space in Downtown Arlington offers affordable office and meeting space, collaborative opportunities and other support and resources designed to help entrepreneurs and freelancers make their dreams of running a successful business come true.
PinnStation, located at 201 E. Abram Street in the Pinnacle Corporation building, offers daily, weekly and monthly workspace rentals that "provide users a professional location to work and collaborate with others." The concept is similar to co-working spaces available in Dallas, Fort Worth and other large Texas cities. Amenities include high-speed internet, mail service, workshops and events, projectors and other office equipment and supplies.
"We have members ranging from entrepreneurs to freelancers, to remote workers on the go," PinnStation Director Alysha Vandergriff said. "PinnStation provides quiet desk space, free wifi, free coffee and tea, conference areas, whiteboards and more. We also host Meetup groups and roundtables for the local startup community and occasionally we will have free classes led by local experts in the tech community and sometimes even some of our own members."
John Strawn, chief creative officer of The Beckler Company, said he accidentally stumbled across PinnStation as he was on his way to Fort Worth to check out a different co-working space for his business needs. Now he works out of PinnStation daily, which he said is more affordable than his previous office lease and still allows him to meeting clients in a professional setting.
"The price is right. The facility is fantastic," said Strawn, whose company provides marketing and promotion for local and national artists. "This is the perfect place for us to set up. When the time comes for expansion, the space is right here."
Co-working isn't just about the physical place but about establishing a community, said Tony Rutigliano, President and CEO of Downtown Arlington Management Corporation.
"The City of Arlington, UT Arlington and DAMC are very committed to developing the kind of ecosystem necessary to attract, cultivate and keep entrepreneurs in Arlington. PinnStation is a big step in that direction," Rutigliano said.
