Angel Boy won First Place in the 2019 Arlington Animal Services Pet Calendar photo contest.
A handsome senior soared to first place with 525 votes in the 2019 Arlington Animal Services Pet Calendar photo contest. Red, aka "Angel Boy" was a youngster adopted in 2010.
"He has been with me in both good and bad times," Angel Boy's owner posted in his contest entry. "One look at his sweet face has certainly helped during those "bad' times. He is pure JOY! He makes me SMILE!"
This year's pet photo contest was open to anyone that adopted or rescued a pet from the City of Arlington Animal Services Center within the past ten years in celebration of the calendar contest's 10th anniversary in 2019.
Heartfelt stories of love and companionship were shared in this year's contest. Second place winner, Johnny Ringo helps relieve anxiety by giving hugs to his owner every morning and every night. He is followed onInstagram @ringo1454.
Tuco, the third-place winner is a celebrity Japanese Mastiff mix living his best life ever in The American Dream City. He was recently featured in the MyArlingtonTX News with his story of transformation from a "neglected, underweight pet to a charismatic Instagram model with a global following."
