This year's festival kicks off on Thursday, September 20, with a free concert at the primary stage in J. Gilligan's Bar & Grill. There will also be music acts at various other locations in Downtown Arlington, with concerts continuing throughout the weekend. The film festival takes place at the Studio Movie Grill in Lincoln Square starting Friday, September 21, at 6:00 p.m. The festival opens with a red carpet reception showcasing both Hollywood and local independent filmmakers. Visual arts will be highlighted at the Arlington Museum of Art with two exhibits. One is entitled "Jolly" and features Japanese themed sculptures by Marilyn Jolly. Happy 10th birthday, Levitt Pavilion Arlington! In a decade-long tradition that has yet to be broken, Levitt Pavilion Arlington continues its fall season of free concerts this Friday night at 8 p.m. with The Unlikely Candidates. The weekend continues at 8 p.m. with The Dirty River Boys on Saturday, September 22. Carolyn Wonderland comes to town on Sunday at 8 p.m. Wonderland is a musical force equipped with the soulful vocals of Janis and the guitar-slinging skills of Stevie Ray. All concerts are free and family friendly this season except for Barenaked Ladies, which requires a ticket purchase. Fright Fest, presented by SNICKERS®, is back for select days September 22-October 31, 2018 at Six Flags Over Texas in The American Dream City. The park will also be open this weekend for guests to enjoy their favorite coasters and attractions, including the ultimate Super-Villain thrill ride-HARLEY QUINN Spinsanity. The park's operating hours are from 11 a.m. to midnight on Saturday and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday. Set in the late 1970s, this hilarious story of friendship and revenge in the Rolodex era is outrageous, thought-provoking and even a little romantic. The show runs through Sunday, October 7, 2018 at Theatre Arlington in Downtown. Appropriate for audiences ages 13 and up.

Legendary artist Graham Nash is a two-time Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee - with Crosby, Stills, and Nash and with the Hollies. He was also inducted twice into the Songwriter's Hall of Fame, as a solo artist and with CSN, and he is a GRAMMY Award winner. Nash will be performing this Friday, September 21, 2018 at 7:30 p.m. at Arlington Music Hall. Tickets are still available online at Arlington Music Hall's website. Check out live music this weekend at Texas Live!, the new $250 million world-class dining, entertainment and hospitality district located near the Rangers' Globe Life Park and Cowboys' AT&T Stadium in The American Dream City. Arlington Backyard, a 5,000-capacity outdoor event pavilion, is expected to host more than 250 events annually. Misterwives perform at 8 p.m. at the Arlington Backyard and Vegas Star will be on the Live! arena stage at 10:30 p.m. on Friday, September 21. The College Game Day Watch Party kicks off on Saturday at 11 a.m. in front of a Texas-Sized Television and Oktoberfest Live! starts at noon on Saturday. It's time to break out the swimwear, slather on the sunscreen, and dust off your sunglasses for a fun-filled season at Hurricane Harbor! This summer season is sure to rock with plenty of activities for the entire family. Cool off with the kiddos at Hook's Lagoon with four mini slides, water sprayers and shallow water to splash around in. For the thrills seekers in the family, hop onto Tornado and travel down the 132 foot slide in the mouth of a gigantic funnel. Hurricane Harbor will be open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
8. Splash Into September at Hugh Smith Indoor Pool
If you purchased an outdoor season pass for City pools, then you can still use it through September at Hugh Smith Indoor Pool. Keep summer going after school starts with open swim hours every day of the week. Features include a perfect 86 degree water temperature year round, handicap access, and changing room and restroom facilities. Head over to Grease Monkey Burger Shop & Social Club in Downtown Arlington for live music this weekend. On Friday, September 21, Idol Club, a Roots Rock Reggae band from Arlington, will perform at 9 p.m. Rocky Lott takes the stage at 9 p.m. on Saturday, September 22. The Josh Lee Band has been rocking out since 2007, providing entertainment to a variety of venues from Classic Rock to 90s Rock, Country, the Oldies and today's hits. Check out live music with Sweet T this Friday, September 21, 2018 at J.R. Bentley's in Downtown Arlington. The show starts at 8 p.m. On Saturday, the Bryan Lucas Duo will perform at 8 p.m. Situated in a historic home, J.R. Bentley's has the feel of an authentic English pub and features several local and area bands throughout the year. The venue is located at 406 W Abram St, Arlington, TX 76010.
